R-290 (Propane) is refrigerant grade propane, used as an alternative to R-22 and R-502 in low, medium, and high temperature refrigeration and air conditioning applications. R-290 is a hydrocarbon (HC) consisting of only carbon and hydrogen atoms. These compounds occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere, therefore it is an efficient refrigerant that has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
