Nitrogen
Liquid Nitrogen (LIN) is a cryogenic liquid form of Nitrogen that has been cooled and compressed to a temperature of approximately -196°C (-321°F) at standard pressure.
Liquid nitrogen is produced by air separation, which involves cooling and compressing air to separate its components based on their boiling points. The resulting nitrogen gas is then liquefied by further cooling and compression to produce liquid nitrogen.
Liquid Nitrogen (LIN) is a cryogenic liquid form of Nitrogen that has been cooled and compressed to a temperature of approximately -196°C (-321°F) at standard pressure. It is composed of nitrogen, which is the most abundant gas in Earth’s atmosphere, making up about 78% of it.
Liquid nitrogen is produced by air separation, which involves cooling and compressing air to separate its components based on their boiling points. Nitrogen gas, which has a boiling point of -196°C, is separated from other gases such as oxygen, argon, and carbon dioxide, which have higher boiling points. The resulting nitrogen gas is then liquefied by further cooling and compression to produce liquid nitrogen.
Liquid Nitrogen are transported and stored in cryogenic containers, such as T75 ISOTanks, that are designed to maintain the low temperature of LIN
Food industry:
LIN is used for quick freezing and chilling of food products, such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and baked goods. It is also used for cryogenic grinding of food products, such as spices, to produce a fine powder.
Chemical industry:
LIN is used in the chemical industry for cryogenic grinding of materials, such as plastics and rubber, to produce a fine powder. It is also used in the production of chemicals, such as ammonia, as a refrigerant.
Electronics industry:
LIN is used as a coolant for electronic components to maintain a low temperature during manufacturing and testing processes.
Medical industry:
LIN is used in the medical industry for cryotherapy to treat skin lesions, such as warts and skin tags, by freezing and destroying the affected tissue. It is also used for cryopreservation of biological samples, cells, and tissues.
Aerospace industry:
LN2 is used in the aerospace industry as a coolant for rocket fuel and to pressurize fuel tanks.
Metal fabrication industry:
LIN is used in metal fabrication for cooling metal to reduce warping and distortion during welding and cutting processes.
Oil and gas industry:
LIN is used in the oil and gas industry for inerting and purging of pipelines to remove residual gases, such as oxygen and hydrocarbons, that can cause explosions or fires.
Agriculture industry:
LIN is used in the agriculture industry for the preservation of animal semen, embryos, and tissue cultures.
