Composed by combining two different refrigerants, R32 and R125, R410a was introduced as a replacement for older refrigerants. As a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant, R410a does not contain chlorine that has ozone depleting properties. Systems with R410a typically operate at higher pressures which helps improve energy efficiency and cooling performance.
